Annually Urban Fractional Vegetation Cover Dynamic Mapping in Hefei, China (1999–2018)

چکیده

Vegetation measures are crucial for assessing changes in the ecological environment. Fractional vegetation cover (FVC) provides information on growth status, distribution characteristics, and structural of vegetation. An in-depth understanding dynamic urban FVC contributes to sustainable development civilization urbanization process. However, change detection using multi-temporal remote sensing images is a complex process challenge. This paper proposed an improved estimation model by fusing optimized range index (ODRVI) model. The ODRVI sensitivity water content, roughness degree, soil type minimizing influence bare areas sparse cover. enhanced stability near-infrared (NIR) band dense through introducing canopy vertical porosity (VCVP) verification results confirmed that had better performance than typical (VI) models Landsat images. coefficient determination (R2) between was 0.9572, which 7.4% higher average R2 other VI models. Moreover, annual dynamics were mapped Hefei, China (1999–2018). total area all grades decreased 33.08% during past 20 years China. extremely low, medium exhibited apparent inter-annual fluctuations. maximum standard deviation grade 13.35%. For FVC, order ratio low > medium-high high FVC. mapping revealed intensity direction sprawl coverage, strategic management plans.

Fractional Vegetation Cover Estimation In Urban Environments

Quality of life in urban environments is closely related to vegetation cover. The Urban growth and its related environmental problems, planners are forced to implement policies to improve the quality of urban environment. Thus, vegetation mapping for planning and managing urban is critical. Given the spectral complexity of the urban environment and the sparse vegetation in these areas, to gener...

Urban Land-Cover Dynamics in Arid China Based on High-Resolution Urban Land Mapping Products

Rapid urbanization has occurred in northwestern China, threatening the sustainability of its fragile dryland ecosystems. A lack of precise urban land-cover information has limited our understanding on the urbanization in the dryland. Here, we examined urban land-cover changes from 2000 to 2014 in 21 major cities that comprise over 50% of the developed land in arid China, using Landsat Enhanced ...

Evaluation of Fractional Green Vegetation Cover in Residential Area

Green vegetation plays rather important role in urban environment. Recently, re-vegetation in urban residential area is becoming important policy for urban planners from the view point of climate change measures. That is, by maintaining and regenerating green vegetation, both mitigation and adaptation can be achieved. In this regard, establishment of accurate assessment and evaluation methods f...

Fractional Snow Cover Mapping from FY-2 VISSR Imagery of China

Daily fractional snow cover (FSC) products derived from optical sensors onboard low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites are often discontinuous, primarily due to prevalent cloud cover. To map the daily cloud-reduced FSC over China, we utilized clear-sky multichannel observations from the first-generation Chinese geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites (namely, the FY-2 series) by taking advantage of thei...

Dynamic Urban Projection Mapping †

“Dynamic projection mapping” is a variation of the best-known “projection mapping”. It considers the perceptual analysis of the urban landscape in which the video projection and the observer’s displacement speed are hypothesized. This latter, in particular, is variable and may depend on factors not directly controllable by the driver (slowdowns due to accidents, rallies, etc.). This speed can b...
